Atmosphere and architecture
The lodge cultivates a rustic African aesthetic. Cottages are scattered throughout mature gardens, connected by pathways that traverse a semi-cultivated savanna. Common areas embrace local materials: natural stone, sculpted wood, and palm-thatched roofs.
The décor draws inspiration from Maasai culture, with murals adorning rooms and artisanal pieces throughout communal spaces. The overall character is traditionally-minded, occasionally showing its age in details, yet entirely consistent with its surroundings.

The 83 rooms are distributed among cottages throughout the lodge's private grounds:
- 40 rooms with two queen-size beds, including 6 interconnecting rooms designed for families.
- 21 rooms with king-size bed, including one honeymoon suite.
- 2 rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
- 24 rooms convertible to triple configuration on request.
- 18 Deluxe rooms, 20 doubles and 9 singles, all with private veranda.
- One presidential suite featuring two bedrooms, private dining room, kitchenette, spacious lounge and expansive terrace.
All rooms are decorated with Maasai-inspired murals and equipped with air conditioning, minibar, safe, hairdryer, mosquito net and en-suite bidet.
Dining and services
Kibo Restaurant sits beneath a distinctive round structure crowned with a palm-thatched roof, echoing traditional dwellings. The floor blends coloured marble fragments with terracotta tiles, while walls display wooden sculptures depicting local wildlife. Large windows frame views of Kilimanjaro.
The cuisine blends European, Asian and African influences, with breakfast and lunch served buffet-style and dinner à la carte. Outside, the Mawenzi terrace extends the experience beneath a magnificent acacia, featuring natural stone buffet counters and two built-in barbecue grills.
The Hemingway Bar offers panoramic savanna views, complemented by the Mawanzi bar near the terrace. The lodge also features an outdoor swimming pool, spa, fitness centre and conference facilities for business travellers.
